After more than 15 years as a lawyer at De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek, it is time to shift gears. On October 1st I will start a new chapter.
My time at De Brauw has been wonderful, with all the highlights you can think of: many landmark and other cool cases before the Supreme Court and the ECJ and the launch of The FIPE, the network of female IP experts.
Thank you for the excellent co-operation I have had with many of you, it has been a pleasure working with you. I am lucky to have enjoyed my job so much. Saying goodbye is no easy feat! But as the saying goes: “If you always do what you’ve always done, you will always be where you’ve always been.” Now it’s time to take my career in a challenging new direction.
What is next? I will continue to give seminars on plain and powerful legal writing, storytelling for lawyers and preparing for litigation. Secrets to unlock writing creativity and productivity are things I’m uber passionate about. Curious if you are too. Let me know. My aim is to work together with other lawyers and creative people to rock the legal world 😉
P.S. I’m working on new seminars and I’d love to hear from you: What’s the one key skill you think someone needs in order to be a successful lawyer?
